Camp Parent Meeting Reminder and the "Big Shake-out".

A reminder about our parent helper camp meeting next Wednesday at 7p.m. in the staff room. Details are in the newsletter that went home this week.

Today all the students at St Mary's took part in the "Big Shake-Out" at 9:15a.m.  They know exactly what to do if an earthquake occurs and everyone was very sensible too.

Muffin Mania

We are learning about measurement in maths so we put our measurement skills to practise and made some delicious chocolate muffins. We had to work as a team and share the tasks fairly. Every team had success in the end and made a batch of fudgy chocolate muffins. Well done room 4 bakers.

We used a "rich maths task" to estimate and measure a variety of objects.  Then we had to add up the totals. This was good practise in measuring objects accurately by reading scales correctly, and use our maths strategies to add - no calculators allowed.
